CGMS-41

CGMS-41 will be hosted by JMA and JAXA in Japan on 8-12 July 2013.

CGMS-40

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of CGMS, CGMS-40 will be hosted by WMO supported by the Swiss Meteorological Service in Lugano, Switzerland on 5-9 November 2012.

CGMS-39

The 39^th meeting of the Coordination Group for Meteorological Satellites, CGMS-39, hosted by Roshydromet and Roscosmos, took place in St. Petersburg, Russia, on 3-7 October 2011.

CGMS-38

The 38th meeting of the Coordination Group for Meteorological Satellites - CGMS – was hosted by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in New Delhi, India, on 8-12 November 2010.

During the plenary session, CGMS-38 received reports on the status of current and future satellite systems and discuss operational continuity and reliability and the satellite requirements of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and of other international organisations like the Global Climate Observing System (GCOS), the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC) and Group on Earth Observations (GEO). New on the agenda last year was the discussion and identification of agency activities related to operational climate monitoring, oceanography and atmospheric monitoring and an examination of what aspects might be coordinated among the agencies in these fields. The plenary session also received reports from the CGMS working groups on telecommunications, satellite products, contingency planning and global data dissemination. 

CGMS-38 was attended by some 70 participants representing CGMS members from the European Space Agency/EUMETSAT (Europe), IMD (India), IOC/UNESCO, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency/Japan Meteorological Agency, Korea Meteorological Administration, US National Oceanic and Space Administration (NOAA)/National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Russian Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring (ROSHYDROMET)/Russian Federal Space Agency (ROSCOSMOS), and WMO. In addition, observers from the Canadian Space Agency, Environment Canada, Committee on Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS), and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) attended.
