CGMS WGIV cloud technology workshop 2022

Meeting information

28-31 March 2022
hosted by EUMETSAT (WGIV cloud service expert group)

On behalf of the WGIV cloud expert group, EUMETSAT will host the virtual CGMS WGIV cloud computing workshop on 28-31 March 2022.

Cloud computing has gained widespread use over the last few years. With the exponential increase in data use, it is becoming increasingly difficult for individuals and organizations to keep all of their vital information, programs, and systems up and running on in-house computer servers. Cloud technology helps in addressing some of these challenges.

The primary goal of the workshop is information sharing and discussion to increase awareness of the current and future trends in cloud services. Key capability gaps that the cloud can fulfil will also be discussed so participants can fully leverage the advantages the cloud can offer. This will help CGMS to develop Cloud Best Practices and will help its members to coordinate the development of their agency cloud services.
