Templates

Guidelines

Please use the templates above for your documents.

The titles, full Working Papers (.docx or .pdf) and/or presentations (.pptx) shall be sent via e-mail to cgmssec@eumetsat.int, clearly indicating the subject as "Working Paper/presentation submission for CGMS-55, WGX or Plenary".

When providing the titles, please indicate whether there will be a Working Paper and/or a presentation. The Working Paper number will be provided on the online agenda.

Please also indicate in the e-mail which agenda item the document relates to. The CGMS Secretariat will then upload the documents online and a short confirmation e-mail will be sent once done.

In case your presentation is larger than 25 MB, please send it to us using this link:
https://filedrop.eumetsat.int/filedrop/cgmssec@eumetsat.int. The Filedrop service is a simple web interface that enables you to send large files by e-mail, easily and securely. You have to simply your e-mail address and add your file(s).

The purpose of the detailed Working Paper (.docx, .pdf) is to remain as a rich source of information (for traceability and for the records), whereas the PowerPoint presentation (.pptx) to plenary shall be succinct in that it primarily reports on any new developments, future plans and highlights relevant to CGMS, enabling sufficient time for discussion.

Process for creating and updating CGMS Best Practices (BP)

The relevant CGMS Working Group or subgroup prepares the BP document until maturity has been reached for Plenary endorsement and publication.

In preparation for the next Plenary meeting and endorsement of the BP, the following steps are necessary:

  1. The BP document (new or updated) is created using the template above.
  2. A CGMS Working Paper is prepared describing the rationale for the BP including the BP text (new, or updated text shown with track changes) and is then presented to the relevant Working Group.
  3. This Working Group discusses and updates the draft BP as necessary and presents it to Plenary for endorsement.
  4. Following Plenary endorsement, the BP document is updated with any amendments proposed by Plenary, and published on the CGMS WordPress website under publications.

Guidelines for CGMS Space Agency Members to submit information for the updating of the OSCAR/Space database

CGMS Space Agency Members are responsible for providing in a timely manner any required and requested information related to their satellite missions in order to maintain and keep the information contained in the OSCAR/Space database up to date. Please provide this information to the WMO Space Programme Office (hpohjola@wmo.int), in accordance with the following:

  1. Throughout the year, the WMO Space Programme Office is providing the OSCAR/Space Support Team (O/SST) focal points with templates indicating the missing or outdated information related to Earth Observation missions. CGMS Members shall ensure that the fully completed templates are returned to the WMO Space Programme Office by their O/SST focal points in a timely manner and within the requested deadlines.
  2. Throughout the year, the WMO Space Programme Office is providing the CGMS Space Weather Coordination Group (SWCG) with templates indicating the missing or outdated information related to Space Weather missions. The SWCG Co-chairs shall ensure that the fully completed templates are returned to the WMO Space Programme Office in a timely manner and within the requested deadlines.
  3. In addition, CGMS Members shall immediately inform their O/SST focal points on the occasion of newly launched satellites and satellite/instrument anomalies or changes. O/SST focal points shall then provide updated information to the WMO Space Programme Office as soon as possible.

The WMO Space Programme Office will provide progress reports at each CGMS plenary.
